We do!!!
It feels like so much has happened since we last blogged! We've left Dublin, rented our car (!!!), have driven across the country, and have spent our first night couchsurfing! Getting the car was a total adventure! We're driving a cute little black VW Golf and Cathy is doing SUCH a great job!! The roads of Ireland are incredibly confusing, which has been the biggest adjustment to driving in this country! The signs are hard to follow and the roads are so so so NARROW! We shriek a little everytime we're driving through the 'highways' which are more like Canada's dirt path backroads... the roads wind and make seeing oncoming traffic impossible! We've prayed many fervent prayers asking Jesus that we won't get into a crash...
We've had our first couchsurfing experience and we don't think it could've gone better! Although we had trouble finding the house (she mentioned it was a 'yellow stone cottage'... apparently there are about 100 of them on her road alone! We ended up going to the wrong place and asking an old man if Viola lived there... ;)) our day with her was great! She showed us the gorgeous countryside and little towns that few tourists would ever run into. We sat in a pub (with our first pint of Guinness since arriving!) and laughed at all the people cheering for the soccer game! There's lots to share but blogging doesn't quite do it justice...
Since then we've spent a night at this adorable B&B in the middle of nowhere. The back veranda overlooked rolling green hills, sheep, cows, and the ocean! We saw the Cliffs of Moher (www.cliffsofmoher.com if you want to get jealous) which were stunning... Honestly there's no way to describe the landscape here... beyond words! The weather we've had has been RIDICULOUS for this country! Sunny blue skies, warm weather... we couldn't ask for anything better!!
We're at our next hostel along the west coast, trying to plot out our travel for the next couple days! There's still so much to see and do, it's hard to fit it all into a couple weeks!
Thank you all for your prayers, we're feeling them as we travel through these winding narrow roads and somehow always end up where we're supposed to (although getting lost is a common event!) We miss and love you all...

so glad your first experience couchsurfing went so well! viola -- what a good name.
Been praying for you, and you seem to be safe so far, so that's great! Cathy,I would love to see you show off your new irish driving skills. I'm thinking back to a certain near-hitting of two squirrels on the road a couple weeks ago (by me, not you), and thinking that the skrieks we all let out at that moment are somewhat like what you and ali are doing daily now.
Good lung exercise, I'm sure.
ok.... keep us all posted as you can. you're blogs are keeping me interested during my days.
(I'm also reading Maeve Binchy so I can feel like I know a bit of what you're experiencing... though it's a shoddy substitute no doubt. Still...)
